If you’ve ever wondered what the best games of all time are, you might be thinking of impossible feats like “The Number Ones”. But if the game didn’t make it to number one on any list, can it still be considered a must play? Well surprisingly enough, there are some great games that never made it onto anyone's "Top Game" list. These overlooked gems include Divinity: Original Sin 2 and Sid Meier's Civilization V! To put these games in perspective, let's take a look at some other underrated titles. I recall playing Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse when I was younger and not knowing what to expect from this cult hit by Konami. If you’re not familiar with the series, it’s one of the most popular video game franchises of all time. But we want to focus on what makes this particular installment so great. For starters, the soundtrack is incredible and very memorable. The level design and visuals are also superb and at times you feel like you’re in a horror movie! It also has a deep and interesting storyline that will keep you invested until the end. And if there was ever an underrated platformer, it would be Cave Story! This indie treasure didn’t receive much attention when it launched in 2004 but over time it has become a cult hit with indie gamers everywhere. The game is brutally challenging and features beautiful visuals and art style. The controls can be a bit tricky at first, but once you master them, there’s no way you’ll stop playing this gem. Again we want to turn our attention to another under-rated RTS: Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty! This gem had everything one could ask for in an RTS: an awesome single player campaign, deep and engaging multiplayer gameplay, and it even features a very extensive editor. I’m not going to lie... at first I didn’t really enjoy the game because it took a bit of time to get used to using the editor, but after a while I got into it and realized that the editor was actually one of my favorite features. You can literally do anything you can possibly imagine with it. And even after all these years, it still remains one of the best RTS games on the market. In fact, it’s probably the only RTS that I’ve ever played that I can’t stop playing. I’m sure there are plenty of other games that have been overlooked but haven't yet reached a cult status. cfa1e77820
